Travel Team Spotlight: DSA Blast 2012 Girls

The Deptford Blast 2012 Girls are a great example of what makes travel soccer so special. Formed in the fall of 2020, this group has now spent six years growing, competing, and building friendships together under the leadership of coaches Brian Lockman, Marco Polit, and Tom Newman. The Blast currently compete in Flight 1 of the South Jersey Girls Soccer League (SJGSL), continuing to challenge themselves against some of the strongest teams in the area.

Over the years, the Blast have created plenty of memories together both on and off the field — a night out at the Philadelphia Union, walking out with the Rowan University Women's Soccer Team, and taking the field alongside the Philadelphia Spartans semi-professional indoor team. They've even played on the turf at the Wells Fargo Center, and each summer the team looks forward to returning to Beach Blast, one of their favorite traditions.

One of the team's favorite traditions is their "Blast Bling" Player of the Match award — after every game, the coaches recognize a player whose effort and performance stood out, awarding her a special team necklace to wear with pride. We are proud to celebrate the Deptford Blast 2012 Girls and all they represent: commitment, friendship, competition, and plenty of Blast pride!
